More Than Just a Great Education!

The Value of the Month is Sharing!

We are Famous!!

Channel 11's Chief Meteorologist Julie Bologna spent the afternoon visiting with students and teachers at St. John the Baptist School in Plum. Julie was greeted with many welcoming signs and a beautiful gift basket. This, the first of many elementary school assemblies to come, was comprised of 221 kids from kindergarten through eighth grade. Julie spoke with the students about the weather and how it takes on its many forms. She also taught them how to keep safe in times of severe weather and explained what goes into putting together a television weathercast each day.

All of the students who assisted Julie in her interactive presentation were given a Severe Weather Team 11 T-shirt with the phrase “I helped Julie with the weather.” Channel 11 is pleased that the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank is playing a major part in Julie’s weather assemblies. Ivy Ero, the Director of Education Programs at the Food Bank, was on site to receive 300 pounds of non-perishable food items that the students had collected. The school also donated a check of $185 that was raised through a dress down day.
