8th Grade Language Arts
Eighth grade English Class will be continuing to develop their writing skills and fine tune their writing, in preparation for high school. Students will do a variety of writing and practice different styles of writing. All students will complete a research project including outlines, drafts, bibliography pages, research with note cards and presentations. Students will be reading a variety of novels this year. Novels range in genre and topics to allow students to enjoy and experience different styles of writing and reading. The novels include literary classics like “To Kill a Mockingbird,” and Shakespeare’s “Macbeth.”

7th Grade Language Arts
Seventh grade English Class will be reviewing grammar and concentrating on their writing skills. Students will do a variety of writing and practice different styles of writing. All students will complete a research project including outlines, drafts, bibliography pages, research with note cards and presentations. The seventh graders will also be publishing the school newspaper. Stay tuned for the editions. Seventh grades will be reading novels centered about a variety of genres. I have chosen some of my favorites and some new ones that I just learned about. The books will focus on character development and how the author writes to increase the reader’s interest.
