Mrs. Katie Horvat- Third Grade I have been a teacher at St. John the Baptist School since 1990. Prior to that I attended Duquesne University where I received my B.S. degree in Elementary education. I am married and have two children. My husband Mickey is a Pharmacist. My children are Patrick and Maggie. Patrick, a graduate of Duquesne University, is a practicing lawyer in Pittsburgh. Maggie, a recent graduate of Duquesne University also, has a degree in Marketing and is currently working in sales at FedEX. My teaching philosophy is this: I don't simply teach my many subjects. I also will strive to help each child grow in their own individual ways to make their experience a positive and happy one!
